SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Record Printing Company, based in Sioux City, IA, recently launched its innovate Unique Ideas marketing program in a nationwide release. Unique Ideas is a comprehensive plan to increase sales and revenue for print shops through a series of targeted postcard mailings.

“The idea came from our own needs,” said Jeff Vlaanderen, a partner in the Record Printing company. “We wanted to send out postcards every month to our customers, but we never really had the time to brainstorm for unique themes. Our designers were always scrambling at the end of the month for ideas.”

From this monthly dilemma came the idea to put together a year’s worth of postcards in a single package and market the package to other print shops. A printing company that purchases the Unique Ideas package receives black and white postcards along with two-color postcards, or full color postcards depending on which version they order.

“We figure that it’s more cost-effective for a print shop to buy our package than it is for them to pay their own designers to develop a comprehensive postcard program,” said Vlaanderen. “A print shop can buy our package and customize it to their needs in minutes.”

The Unique Ideas postcards are done with QuarkXPress® software, which is both Macintosh and PC compatible, and can also be used with InDesign® software. Individual print shops can easily incorporate their own logo and address as well as change the phrasing and color scheme to reflect their own individual needs.

The postcards come in several packages. Unique Ideas offers two “levels” of postcards – Level One contains black and white postcards as well as two-color postcards. Level Two is comprised of full-color postcards. A customer may purchase either six month or twelve month versions of both packages.
